What Is Sustainability?
Sustainability can be defined as fulfilling the current demand of the world without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs. The concept of sustainability is composed of three pillars: economic, environmental, and social—also known informally as profits, planet, and people.
WE ARE KEEPING OUR PLANET AT STAKE
As we all know sustainability is a vast term to dive into, one of the most devastating factors that are creating harm to our mother
planet earth is the excess use of plastic. As result, the plastic ban revolution came into action where the prime minister of India
pledged to eliminate all single-use plastic in the country by 2022 with an immediate ban in urban Delhi.
after the plan commenced one of the most trendy thing that jumped into the market nowadays are so-called sustainable cloth bag
which is made up of synthetic polyester that breaks down in 20 to 200 years eventually contributing to the landfill for a longer
period of time, Though it's not as bad as plastic we humans use it at such a high pace that everything becomes miserable for
future, every time we go to market we buy a new carry bag instead of using the older one that we took earlier
That's how we continue to add landfills that could have reused and repurposed for a longer run.
WHEN PROBLEM GETS BIGGER DAY BY DAY IT NEEDS A CREATIVE SOLUTION
Nowadays in every home people must have collected almost hundreds of carrying bags,
which after keeping a longer period of time goes into the garbage only after one use or
two,.so here I came up with some of the recycled design ideas to do with them so that we
can make maximum out of it and avoid purchasing other household items that contain
the same amount of plastic.one of the design ideas people might have seen before,
which I'm going to share here, but what is completely different is the medium that
I'll be using was never used this way ever before for eg: we must have seen
scrunchies out of clothes but nobody has tried making it before with carry bags
because of the quality constrain and so on, another big thing is the idea of
making a mask out of carry bag, now the first question that arises in mind is
whether it is harmless to wear a carry bag on our nose or not, so the answer
is "yes " it is harmless to wear and it is breathable, I've done ample R&D on it and came
to know the following points about the major difference between a normal surgical
mask and a polyester surgical mask that I'll be making,
1. A surgical mask is made up of polypropylene, this plastic is considered safe but not very environmentally eco-friendly while carry bags are made up of polyester this is made from very lightweight Polyester Fabric which gives it high strength so it is difficult to tear. both are non-eco-friendly.
2. The major difference between the both is polyester doesn't allow water to pass through it while polypropylene does.
3. Polypropylene has a much lower melting point than polyester thus polyester can be washed with hot water.
4. Researchers have also found that a sheet of tightly woven cotton of 600 threads pen inches plus two sheets of chiffon, made from
polyester and spandex, seemed to make the most effective combination, filtering out 80-90% of the particles, depending on their size.
Continuing to the series of products that can be made out of these carry bags are Cleaning Duster, Phone hanger while charging, and Curtain tieback,
though products can be endless if looked at deeply.

Design life is “the time when an element is expected to perform without repair.” Another sets it in terms of the expected period of performance of a component at its designated capacity without major repairs. Everything in the world is designed for different reasons some are designed by nature and some are designed by humans that turn out complicated sometimes for us.

FINAL LOOK
Main idea behind the whole journey of creating stuff from carry bag is to showcase the unconventional use of any material and to empower the longevity in our day to day life by not using excess of non-biodegradable products which eventually turns out to be a landfill It is believed that, in order to change the world one needs to change himself first, whatever mess has being created by our ancestors and what we are creating right now is huge and it is impossible now to clean it all quickly but it can be done partially and slowly from the root level, which will take everyone's contribution and constant believe in good future.
Humans have tendency to adapt the situation very well no matter how difficult it is, but people continues to increase problem knowingly that what will be the consequences,which can be changed by little adaptation in our daily life behavior and consumption.
